I was a little nervous (to say the least) about getting Boo groomed down here, but his nails were getting so long and I have a hard time cutting the hair on his legs-he hates that. But look at the wonderful result from the vet below:

He was happy to get home and needed a nap afterwards. He was gone 3 hours which was like a lifetime to Boo and me. |
I was invited to a women-only party at the Ruby Wine Bar where I met some interesting ladies-all of whom are great dog lovers. Kaye had just returned to San Carlos after being gone about 2 years.

Thursday we went cruising on the BeeGees, the boat owned by Pat and Larry Adams, friends from Jim's Spanish class who live 3 months in Canada. All dogs were invited.

A shrimp boat We are told that this manner of fishing is illegal but people do it anyway (like so much else in Mexico). These nets scrape the bottom of the ocean and bring up everything with them, dolphins included. |

Pat and Larry's wonderful house is Casa Amarillo (yellow). Check out the size of the one up on the right (it has 14 parking spaces!) |

We were going to go out on a boat with other friends this morning but all these clouds moved in early and the captain cancelled until next Friday. Nice day to stay home and catch up on a few things.
The clouds are caused by something called the orographic lift. This is an atmospheric condition where an air mass at ground level is forced up in elevation by the rising terrain, usually by the wind. The air mass cools, as it rises which forces condensation of moisture in the air mass. This can form clouds and, under the right conditions, precipitation. Orographic lift is why it rains so much on the western slopes of the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas.

Two hours later everything cleared and we have another perfect day in San Carlos!
 |
And, after a morning of chores, we took off to the beach near La Manga where we found a nice little shelter from the wind and enjoyed another great experience at the beach. We are getting good at this!

So glad this adventure all worked out so well cousin. Great blog guys.
