Beach Time, Music and Melodrama

San Francisco Playa is reknown for dolphins playing in the surf.  When we arrived on this day, they were jumping and flapping their tails and having a ball.  We were mesmerized!

OK-so I didn't take this picture, but this is what it looked like.
Cannot adequately describe how beautiful the ocean is in this light - like
"billions and billions" of stars!

I snapped many, many pictures but I just wasn't fast enough
to catch the dolphins.  This was the best I could do.

Having a blast as usual

Runners in the dusk-made us miss our runners!

Nothing excited this guy-not even the runners!

Waxing poetic in the waning sunlight

It never gets old!!!!!

Gorgeous, even with a cloudless sky

We just can't bring ourselves to go home until almost dark.

We have really been enjoying the open mic sessions at Tortuga's.  It was standing room only this week and included several new musicians.  Most are good, some are great and some need a little practice.  It is fun to encourage them all-that's our job!

Later, we walked down to La Palapa Griega to hear local favorite, Mark Mulligan, and sign up for his tour to Bahia de Kino next weekend.

La Palapa Griega is just beautiful at night.

On our way home...

Just in time to climb up the rock wall to get home
The next big event of the week was the Melodrama, Tammy's Tantalizing, Tactile Tattoo.  This is a local tradition and benefits the local ambulance service.

The Cast

Boo went crazy when the gunshots went off!
If we would have let him, he would have gone
onstage and bitten all the bad guys.

They do a selection of olios after the main play which were
just as good as the play.  An olio is a selection of variety acts.

Leslie Sahlen, a fabulous Vamp, and her sweet Bobby
She and Bobby have a recording studio here.  They used
to record with Spanky and Our Gang and the Mamas and
the Papas.
