The first thing you notice that announces you are in Mexico for Thanksgiving is that everything is open: grocery stores, banks, offices, etc. We got up early and walked the Playa San Francisco where Boo got to romp in the waves and we got a good walk in to prepare us for all we would eat later in the day. We picked up two big garbage bags full of trash (yes, one of the downfalls of this part of the world!). A cormorant was fishing right off shore and we got a big kick out of Boo trying to nab him for his Thanksgiving dinner. For some reason, I can't seem to upload these pictures this morning! Maybe soon.
All the restaurants were advertising special turkey dinners but we were so fortunate to be invited to Cindy Nugent's house with her son, daughter-in-law, 2 kids and 2 couples from Canada. The food was outrageously delicious-the turkey was even brought down from Whole Foods in Boulder by Jack, Cindy's son. (PS Jack and his family live in Lafayette, CO and he is a NASCAR race car driver--check him out next time you're in the Loveland/Ft. Collins area and see him race-we are hoping to!)

We stayed home on Friday night, listening to Mexican music coming from a wedding party below us near the water. Fireworks were exploding for a good hour!
The following day we went kayaking with friends, Lynne and Dave, from Marina Vista (where they live in an absolutely gorgeous house) to Bahia Esmeralda. We had such a wonderful time: it was great exercise and we saw so many boats and marine life of all kinds: pelicans, gulls, cormorants, frigates, seals and colonies of the sweetest little loons! I must get a waterproof camera, although Jim did bring his out for a few:

Look who loved it, too!

This is the coolest shed for kayaks,
right below their house by the water. |
People who live in this neighborhood can keep their boats right outside their house. It is so convenient and easy. What a way to live! Their house is for sale-interested?

On Sunday, our friends, Cheryl and Bill from Alberta arrived in town and stayed with us for a few days until they found a place to stay at the condominiums at the San Carlos Marina, next to the Marinaterra Hotel. We welcomed them with plenty of margaritas and a fresh shrimp dinner.

Wow! The sun was bright today! Preparing

Note the scaffolding on the right side! Yikes,
I wouldn't want that job. |
