Maxine

Maxine is our 2002 Minnie Winnie Winnebago.  You may remember that Jim bought this as a surprise for me and that I wasn't particularly overjoyed-it was old, a little funky and cumbersome. After years of camping out of a converted van, I wasn't particularly ready for this size RV.  I exclaimed that it was certainly not a "mini" anything--it was a "maxi" - thus, the name, "Maxine" came into being. Well, with some time and a little work, we have turned it into our home on the road and I have learned to enjoy Maxine.  Some of you have asked for pictures, so here you go!

Maxine at Lake Tahoe
There are two slide outs-one for the bed and one for the sofa area.

A queen size bed in back
We added a memory foam mattress, which
makes a big difference.  There is storage
underneath the bed and closets in front.  I
even have a vanity (no pictures yet).

I'm standing next to the refrigerator on my right.
There used to be a TV up front but we took that
out (a little anxious it could land on our heads
one day) and now use that area for storage.
Sofa bed is on the left and dinette is on the right.
The floor used to be a crummy blue carpet.  We
ripped that up and put in wood floors, which are
much easier to take care of and look a lot better.

Our best friend at breakfast
Kitchen sink and stove are on the right. We
just had the dinette cushions recovered in black
and beige-so much better than the old worn blue ones!

Boo keeping watch over us
We tore out all the old valences, made new ones and painted
them black.  We recovered the sofa bed with a stretchy slipcover.

We have a large indoor shower, but since we
prefer taking our showers in the outside
shower (Jim has made us a shower curtain
out of tarps), we use this for storage of
larger items.

This is our bathroom.  It works.

Our altar area, with herbs we are growing
With candles, some heart rocks and music from our
cell phones, IPods and bluetooth, we manage to maintain
an aura of much needed tranquility.

Boo is very happy sleeping between us and keeps us warm.
