Jason Does Mexico, Part One

Jason arrived safely and on time in Hermosillo on Wednesday.  We let him get settled and enjoy the deck for a little while and then took him on a tour of San Carlos to familiarize him with our town.

Enjoying the view from our deck

Getting to know some of the local birds

Meeting an octopus fisherman

And his catch

Catching a first look at the kite boarders

Our neighbor, Don, in front of Bonafacio's

A run up to the Mirador-the best ocean view in the world, ala
National Geographic, 2014

Brings a smile to that face

The ocean greets the desert

Jason's favorite tour guides

We went to dinner at Hammerheads to hear the dueling guitars with Win and Cinda and I didn't get a single picture but a good time was had by all and we walked along the marina, admiring the boats for awhile before heading home.

Day two, we went to the beach at San Francisco Playa and watched the dolphins frolic in the surf.  Jason got a real kick out of Boo running the length of the beach.

A mandatory beer and coke at Tortuga's,
our neighborhood bar

He had his first donkey at JJ's Taqueria and enjoyed The Twins playing salsa music.

We even had a solo by local favorite, Leslie Sahlen!

We went over to Miramar and toured the Pearl Farm on Jason's 40th birthday on Friday and then
cruised the sea on the Hattie Annie (those pictures to follow).

Those are the oyster beds out there.

Loved this pearly oyster Guadalupe niche

I got an early Valentine from my sweetie-a
gorgeous pearl ring from the Bacochibampo Bay

Touring the Cortez Hotel

And its beautiful grounds

And a stop at Tony's market for some fresh
fruit for breakfast tomorrow.
