More Laughlin Adventures in Wyoming-Tongue Creek

Rain started early the next day and continued all morning long.  We had been too tired and lazy last night to put everything away so, Jim ran out early to cover the wood and grab a few things that were still outside.  We all enjoyed sleeping in and then had French toast with the last of the huckleberries in Maxine.  We decided to leave this camp and go towards Burgess Junction to dump and then find another campground.

Excellent day for traveling
Sibley and Prune Creek were full—but we did get a thrill at Prune Creek when this lady showed up in front of Maxine.

A moose, at last! And such a dainty dancer.

We found an even better place at Tongue Creek right beside the creek and the rain stopped long enough that we could sit out for dinner and a long, deeply felt talk around a splendid campfire, before hitting the hay.

Notice who thinks he's a person

Jack sure has alot of fascinating stories!

The next morning, we had trout, eggs and toast for breakfast and Jack and Jim planned their fishing adventure for the day.  After all, they needed a lot of trout to make up for that $104 each!  They succeeded!  They had a beautiful day fishing another incredible creek with deep pools and came home with 5 fish each:  some brook and some rainbow.  The big brown got away!

Linda, Boo and I had a delightful walk through a meadow just filled with wildflowers, a creek running through it and an idea that tomorrow, this would be the perfect place for the guys to fish and us to go along with a picnic.

My beautiful friend

Although it is late in the season, there
was an abundance of wildflowers.

Couldn't resist adding this picture.  It was such a big beautiful sky!

The next morning, the guys were game to go with the plan and off we went looking for the perfect spot.

Looking for the perfect deep hole

How cute is that boy!

We had a very hard day!

Our caballero friend.  Right after he left
(with a tip of his hat), a beautiful buck
ran out in front of where he had been.

What a day for day dreaming, a little nourishment and some wine!

Boo found a great place for a nap!

We cooked up the trout as “Troute in a Pouche” (lemon, almonds, butter and olive oil, and a splash of wine-add herbs and seasonings to taste- and wrap in aluminum foil over hot coals)—couldn’t have been tastier!

Linda keeping track of the cooking time.
