Retirement Tour 2013: Woods Hole, Massachusetts

We drove from Mystic, Connecticut early on the morning of September 1st to find some of Steve Hollis' family and friends on the sailboat, encouraging us to join them.  We pulled up in front of this amazing house (with our jaws touching the ground), threw on our boating shoes and off we went into the next adventure.  We began our journey here in the embrace of a wonderful Cape Cod fog, reminiescent of my childhood.  The seas were a little rough but the ride was exhilarating, after I got over my fear of falling overboard.  Equally wonderful was discovering, on our return, the magical world of the Janney family compound at Gansett Point, Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

The main house at Gansett Point-home to Ladies Group members,
Diana, Lynne, Julie, Merry, and I, as well as Jim and Boo,
Hopi Bear and some of Steve's friends and family.
Looking over the harbor
Our fabulous bedroom, overlooking the ocean
Quiet time
The rose garden wedding venue
Rose garden cherubs
Stone beach where we collected heart rocks
Nirvana!  And our starting off spot for the swim around the point.
Fresh grilled fish every night
The dock to the harbor for sailing,
swimming, and kayaking

We were so happy to find my uncle,
Al's favorite oyster bar,
The Bookstore and Restaurant at Wellfleet.
The oyster beds are right across the street-
you can't get much fresher than that!
